Recently, another round of Covid-19 outbreak in Qingdao, Shandong has caught much attention in China. Since the Hygiene and Health Committee of Qingdao announced that three new asymptomatic cases of coronavirus pneumonia have been tested in Qingdao in October 11th,  the whole nation has paid much attention to Qingdao and hopes that the local crisis will be lifted as soon as possible.

 

The new Covid-19 infected cases of unknown source made many Qingdao citizens feel nervous. At the same time, it has also brought doubts about whether the epidemic situation is likely to rise again. In this case, the local authorities are undoubtedly facing a "uphill battle". It is not only closely related to the health of Qingdao citizens, but also affects the overall situation of national epidemic prevention.

 

To our relief, in five days, Qingdao has successfully waged a "tough battle" of epidemic prevention with high efficiency. On October 12, the Hygiene and Health Commission of Qingdao announced that Qingdao is speeding up the promotion of community testing. It will cover all five districts in the city within three days and the whole city in five days. Up until to 8:00 on October 15, more than 9.94 million nucleic acid samples have been collected, and 7.65 million results have been obtained. No new positive samples have been found except for the published confirmed diseases.

 

In this regard, many foreign media have expressed strong affirmation of the epidemic prevention in Qingdao and think highly of its efficiency. It is also through this comprehensive and rapid screening that Qingdao has successfully avoided the "lockdown" or "quasi-lockdown" situation, successfully "Besieged" the epidemic situation in the community where the Qingdao chest hospital is located, and the impact of the epidemic on social order has been reduced to the lowest level, and the "precise epidemic prevention" has been fully realized.

From this point, it is the administrative efficiency and action power of the government that needs to face the test of epidemic recurrence. With high administrative efficiency of the government, it can make correct decisions faster and put into practice in time. On the other hand, if the internal management of the government is chaotic and the government order is difficult to make, the "golden window period" of epidemic prevention work is likely to be missed and delayed, which will lead to the situation that the epidemic situation is "out of control".

 

At the beginning of the outbreak of the epidemic in Qingdao, no one was sure whether it would become a "outbreak" for epidemic prevention due to the suspected community transmission. In the world, many cities may not be as serious as Qingdao when the epidemic situation was found.
